After talking to several people who said they love P90X and/or Insanity; I found myself wondering, why did they buy an extreme fitness program that is designed to reach a particular group of people who are mentally disciplined and have been exercising for many years. The average person watching infomercials will spend thousands of dollars on a simple impulse just because the trainers make it look so easy on television and it is the newest fitness fade that a friend recommended. The consumer is now excited enough to buy the programs not realizing most of them, will fail before their 30 day free trial offer is up.
There is a 30% success rate for the average person who purchases an extreme fitness workout program most of whom actually reach their desired weight loss or fitness goal. But don't get me wrong, the program does work. However, only for individuals who are already looking to take their workouts to the next level. If you are considering purchasing P90X or Insanity, think about your current motivational level and your current fitness level; which is likely the beginners level.
My suggestion is this, before buying into the newest fitness fades, "Do not dismiss the small business fitness trainers, they are just as knowledgeable as the trainers of P90X and Insanity." Small business fitness trainers are often discredited due to the simple fact, they do not have a high paid "INFOMERCIAL" in constant rotation.
