There's nothing comparable to exercising outdoors. The beauty of it is, it's "unpredictable". For instance, if you're on a jog with no particular route in mind, you're going to encounter some inclines, rough terrain not to mention resistance if it's windy. These are all the components to a good workout. Now, the key to making the climate work in your favor is to ensure you are properly equipped for the elements.
1. If it looks or has been predicted to be a rainy day try to wear clothing that will protect you from being soaked. Purchase a poncho, put your cell or ipod in a plastic bag.
2. Hot/sunny days, wear sunblock, a visor, clothing that absorbs water but keeps you cool.
3. Windy days, wear shades or sunglasses to protect your eyes from debris.
There is only 3 suitable reasons for anyone not to exercise outdoors:
1. Lighting
2. Tornadoes
3. Blizzards
Other than the 3 excuses listed above, anyone, anytime and anywhere can workout. I guarantee it will cost you a lot less than your current health club membership.
